Levitra (vardenafil) is a remedy that helps men to achieve harder erections. It should be therefore be used by patients diagnosed with erectile dysfunction that require this kind of treatment. Women are not supposed to take this medicine as it has been intended for males only. Nevertheless, Levitra has been classified as FDA pregnancy category B, meaning it is not expected to harm an unborn baby but it is not known exactly whether it can pass into breast milk. If you are pregnant and think you need to be taking Levitra it’s always best to talk to your health care provider first. Report to your health care provider any allergies you have, especially if you are allergic to vardenafil. This may prevent you from safely taking this medication and your health care provider will probably recommend trying a different remedy to treat your erectile dysfunction. If you ever had a history of priapism (an unusually long erection that can cause permanent damage to the tissues of the penis), sudden vision loss, if you smoke regularly or are older than 50 make sure your health care provider knows about it before prescribing Levitra. In some of the cases described above it may not be safe for you to take Levitra.
